Round seven of the 2009 D1 Grand Prix was held on October 10 at the Fuji Speedway in Shizuoka Prefecture. Masato Kawabata of Team TOYO TIRES with GP SPORTS ended the first tansou competition in fifth place with 99.00 points. In the finals, he faced Team TOYO TIRES with GP SPORTS teammate Tetsuya Sakuma, ultimately ending victorious with his first win of the season. At the same time, Yoichi Imamura of Team BOSS with POTENZA D1 Project finished in third place, meaning that NISMO Competition parts users came in 1-2-3 in the round. With Ken Nomura of team BLITZ finishing in seventh place, he and Imamura are both entering the final round with the potential of taking the championship.
