半世紀にわたって、4 X 4は、まさにニッサンのシンボルであった 。初代パトロールの登場以来、ニッサンブランドが存在する国ならどこでも、ニッサンの4 X 4乗用車は市場リーダーであった。パトロール、テラノ、X-TRAIL、およびピックアップと呼ばれるこれらニッサン4 X 4カーは、実用性を重んじる人やファミリー用の車として、常に注目の的となってきた。ニッサンは５０年間に亘って開発及び技術の向上に努め、その技術力は今や世界中で知られるようになった。今回、24回目となるこのイベントはこれまでの伝統を受け継いでいる。 複雑なルート設定、マラソンステージ、ナビゲーションセクション、オフロードセクション、そして数々の難関が用意されているからだ。ニッサンにとって、パリ・ダカールラリーは、特別重要である。今年のニッサンの目標は、これまでのオフロードコンペティションのノウハウを確認し、ニッサン・ピックアップとドスード・ニッサンチームをポディウムに押し上げることである。野心的ではあるが、現実的な目標は、優勝だ。
