NISMO STATEMENT ON NIGEL STEPNEY

It is with great sadness that we learn today of the loss of our friend, Nigel Stepney.
Nigel Stepney 1958-2014
As the head of engineering at JRM, Nigel has worked with NISMO since 2010. He led the JRM Racing team to the 2011 FIA GT1 World Driver's Championship with the Nissan GT-R GT1 and most recently focused his efforts on the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3, which won the 2013 Blancpain Endurance Series Pro-Am Championship in the hands of Nissan GT Academy team RJN.
The engineers at NISMO enjoyed working with Nigel, learning a great deal from a man whose entire career has been devoted to motorsport.
This weekend we have GT-Rs racing in the Super GT Championship at Fuji Speedway in Japan and in the UK at the Rockingham round of the British GT Championship. We will race this weekend with the same passion that Nigel displayed.
Our thoughts at this sad time are with Nigel's family, and of course James Rumsey and the team at JRM.
