A super-strong clutch that combines ease of operation with the ability to handle allowable outputs of more than 600ps\this was the concept behind the development of the SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN. NISMO first used this concept to develop a carbon twin product, a process that took two years, but the low Ê of carbon facings meant that they could not provide the performance of COPPERMIX. Over the next year and a half, twin plates using COPPERMIX were developed. So the result of three and a half years of development was the SUPER COPPERMIX TWIN, the final model of the NISMO multi-plate clutch series.
[ Allowable torque of 84 kgfm and ease of compatibility ]
Allowable torque of 84 kgfm for dynamic friction (static friction: 143 kgfm) Handles an estimated allowable power of 670 ps
The multi-plate clutch system takes gthe ease of useh and ghigh power handlingh forte of COPPERMIX to the next level.
* The numerical values are NISMO standard measurement values measured using a push-type clutch combined with an RB26DETT engine. Evaluations were made based on street and circuit conditions. No quarter-mile evaluation was conducted.
Uses a center hub
Using a center hub increases the amount of engagement between the clutch disc and the transmission's input shaft serrated part to lower the surface pressure on the serrations. This reduces the wearing of the input shaft and prevents disengagement trouble. At the same time, this also reduces the impact shock on the serrations during clutch assembling and suppresses offsetting of the two clutch discs making transmission installation easier than for single clutches.
Center hub
Lightweight Flywheel
Equipped with a lightweight flywheel manufactured from special chromoly, the ideal weight has been provided to ensure torque.
Uses an aluminum cover and lightweight flywheel as a set
A special aluminum cover with excellent heat radiation is employed. Also, this is combined as a set with a special lightweight chrome-molybdenum flywheel to achieve the ideal weight setting for the attained torque.
Employs a center plate with a strap function
A strap function*1 is employed to prevent disengagement trouble.
*1 This mechanism uses the reaction force of the strap plate to cause the pressure plate to keep trying to separate on its own from the disc, and it is thereby employed as a genuine part in all transmissions installed in all production vehicles.
Center plate
Sets a high contact force spec (COMPETITION model)
All High Contact Force Spec is set as another special specification for power users.

- Because of the design and manufacturing processes made to create the improved clutch response provided by the sports clutch disc and lightweight flywheel and increased output, it is possible that the transmission or bearings may transmit a rumbling noise, compared to genuine Nissan parts. Transmission or gear noise is particularly likely to occur at idling or when accelerating or decelerating from the area around 2000rpm; however, this has no effect on quality or performance.
- The rattling sound which is characteristic of six-speed manual transmissions, Getrag-equipped vehicles and S15 6-speed manual transmission vehicles, has been proven in actual vehicle testing to be reduced through the use of the G-max.
- Do not use with a big operating cylinder, which may result in a misshift due to insufficient stroke volume.
