[Note on NISMO Brake Pads]
- Because the NISMO Brake Pad Series is designed for top effect (μ) and anti-fade properties, please be aware that they may emit some noise, particularly the R-tune lineup.
- If the pads are used on vehicles other than those indicated, or if pads are installed only on the front or rear, fore-aft braking balance may be compromised and stability reduced. Always refer to the application, and use the correct combination of parts. For those vehicles in which only the front pads are installed, be sure to use genuine pads for the rear.
- When replacing pads, be sure that the pad being removed and the new NISMO pad being installed are the same shape.
- Do not machine the pads in any way except chamfering for noise prevention. Other alterations can cause loss of friction material, cracking and excessive wear.
- When replacing pads, always check the pad and rotor; if there is unusual abrasion or wear also carefully check all the calipers and rotors. If the rotor shows signs of abrasion, replace it with a new unit.
- When a shim needs to be removed along with the brake pad, install the NISMO brake pad after applying brake grease behind the pad. When doing this, be sure that the brake grease does not adhere to the friction material of the pad and rotor.
- Although burn-in is not necessary after replacement, to ensure the proper meeting of the pad and rotor do not make sudden braking for a short time-drive carefully.
- Because the feeling of the brakes will be different after replacement, avoid sudden braking until you have become accustomed to the new feel.
- After installing R-tune brake pads, be sure to test use them before actual driving begins. After extended periods of low-speed/low-temperature driving, or if the vehicle sits for an extended period, the condition of the rotor surface and pad friction surface will change; in this case a test run should also be made.
